Several important limitations apply across this body of evidence: some trials tested collagen peptides alongside other active ingredients such as vitamins and minerals, making it difficult to attribute effects to collagen alone, most studies enrolled relatively small numbers of participants, predominantly women, and the research includes animal and cell-based studies whose findings have not yet been confirmed in human clinical trials.
