Bone Marrow for Nutrient Absorption

Preliminary evidence 10 studies

Research suggests that the available studies linked to bone marrow and nutrient absorption do not directly or collectively examine this relationship in a straightforward way. The evidence base consists primarily of narrative reviews and laboratory or animal studies touching on adjacent topics — including how zinc deficiency may impair blood cell production in aging, how the gut microbiome might influence nutrient delivery to spinal disc tissue, and how environmental contaminants like tungsten can accumulate in bone marrow with harmful effects — rather than studies testing bone marrow as a dietary source or supplement that enhances nutrient absorption. A few additional studies examine intestinal biology, B12 measurement methods, and stem cell-derived therapies for bone repair, but none of these directly address bone marrow consumption and its effect on how the body absorbs nutrients. Given the indirect and varied nature of this evidence, no meaningful conclusions can be drawn from this set of studies about bone marrow's role in nutrient absorption, and this appears to be an area where well-designed human research is largely absent.
